The famed Rein's Deli restaurant in Vernon had a surprise celebrity guest Friday.

That's right, William Shatner of television and screen fame dropped into Rein's Deli for one of its Reubens.
Russ DeBella, one of the owners, said he was cutting up some salmon about 11:15 a.m. and didn't see Shatner walk in.

"I told him my Mom was a big fan," he said.
The picture wound up on Rein's Facebook page.
DeBella said Shatner had stopped in with a producer on his way back to Canada from New York.
"He was very nice," DeBella said. "He ordered, picked up his lunch and then left before people started to notice him."
When asked if he took the former "Star Trek" lead man back to see the famous Rein's pickle stash, DeBella quipped, "Not everyone is allowed to go back there."
