It was the second suspicious car fire this summer in Vernon.

On June 26, at about 12:45 AM, Vernon officers responded to the area of Trout Stream Drive after getting a report that a vehicle was on fire.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found an unoccupied vehicle on fire, a report indicates. Soon after, police received another complaint about someone walking through the woods on Cold Spring Drive, according to a report.

That fire is also under investigation.
