Car Stolen, Vehicles Broken Into In Vernon

VERNON, CT — Vernon police said they are investigating multiple vehicle break-ins that took place Sunday in another rash of incidents.

Car break-ins and thefts have plagued the area for months.

On Sunday, thieves hit Taylor Street, Westwood Drive, David Avenue, Florence Avenue and Charter Road. Most of the vehicles were unlocked, police said.

A Nissan Maxima was stolen during the spree, police said.

Police in Monday re-issued a warning for residents to lock their vehicles and hide or bring their valuables indoors.
