Car Takes Out Light Pole On I-84 in Vernon
A car took out a light pole on a stretch of highway in Vernon, state police said.

VERNON, CT — The teenage driver who began a chain reaction that led to a light police across a section of Interstate-84 was cited for a lane violation, state police said.
The incident took place at 6:18 p.m. on Thursday, according to a report made available Monday.
The 17-year-old was driving a 2008 Infiniti and was entering the westbound side of the highway at the Exit 65 interchange, according to a report. Her car then hit a 2004 Acura while moving into the center lane, caromed off it and slammed into a light pole, according to a report.

The pole wound up on the pavement and blocked all three lanes of I-84, according to a report.
No injuries were reported.
