SOMERS, CT — A car slammed into a utility pole in Somers, state police said.

The incident took place at 9:27 a.m. Friday, when a 50-year-old Rocky Hill man in a 2024 Hyundai Elantra was heading south on Watchaug Road, according to a crash report.

When the car was just south of the Kibbe Grove Road intersection, it suddenly veered to the right, left the pavement and hit an Eversource pole, according to a crash report.
