Charges Filed In Vernon Home Invasion Case
Vernon police have charged a man with five crimes from a home invasion earlier this month.

VERNON, CT — Vernon police have charged a man with five crimes from a home invasion earlier this month.
Michael Patrick Sullivan, 42, of Enfield, was arrested on Sept. 27, two weeks after the break-in, according to a report. Enfield police located him at 9:55 on that night.
According to a warrant, on Sept. 13, Sullivan showed up to a Vernon home and began banging on a door before kicking it in.

He was looking for a former female acquaintance and, when a man there stepped in, Sullivan began fighting with him, according to a warrant. The man suffered a minor injury and Sullivan fled the home before police arrived, according to a report.
Sullivan was charged with first-degree burglary, third-degree strangulation, third-degree assault, third-degree criminal mischief and disorderly conduct.

Sullivan's initial $5,000 bond was knocked down to a promise to appear during a Sept. 27 arraignment and he is due in court again on Oct. 22, records show.
