Chicken Rescued in Vernon Finding 'Sanctuary' at Ticketnetwork
A rescued chicken is safe and sound at a local business.

VERNON/SOUTH WINDSOR — The chicken found wandering along a busy stretch of road in Vernon on Thursday is safe and sound at the 'animal sanctuary' on the corporate campus at Ticketnetwork.com, company officials said Friday.
The employee who rescued the chicken is staying in contact with Vernon police in case anyone claims her, Ticketnetwork.com officials said.
Reports of the loose chicken came into the Vernon Police Department at 8:32 a.m. Thursday. The bird was running along Kelly Road near the Hartford turnpike interchange, police said.

No one knows where the chicken broke loose from, police said. The area is a busy commercial district that includes a mobile home park, a Chinese restaurant, an auto repair shop, a Denny's restaurant, a Price Chopper Supermarket and an on-ramp to Interstate-84.
It was then an employee of Ticketnetwork.com, located on Gerber Road just over the South Windsor line, managed to rescue the chicken.
