Choking Incident Leads to Charges in Vernon

VERNON, CT — A 55-year-old Vernon resident spent the night in the lockup after a choking incident at his West Main Street residence, police said.

Officers were dispatched to the apartment at 2:44 p.m. on Monday. Konstantin Nalitov is accused of grabbing a woman by the neck during an argument and cutting off her breathing, according to a report.

He was charged with third-degree strangulation, second-degree threatening, third-degree assault and second-degree breach of peace, according to a report.

He was held on a $10,000 bond and is was to appear in Rockville Superior Court on Tuesday, records show.
