Co-Worker Snitches On Wrong-Way Driver Who Sped Away From Vernon Cops
A man sped into oncoming traffic while trying to elude Vernon police, a report indicates.

VERNON, CT — A co-worker wound up identifying a driver with a fake plate who tried to elude Vernon officers by driving head-on into traffic, police said.
Police released a report on the Oct. 23 incident this week.
At 5:54 p.m. that day, police tried to stop a black 2006 Acura RL with a misused Connecticut registration plate at the intersection of Talcottville Road and Green Circle Road, according to an arrest report. The Acura then accelerated, veered onto the other side of Talcottville Road toward oncoming traffic and eventually sped onto Interstate 84 westbound, according to an arrest report.

A co-worker of the driver, who happened to be in the area, identified him as a 20-year-old Hartford man and the driver later surrendered at Vernon police headquarters after being contacted, according to am arrest report.
He was charged with reckless driving, failure to drive in the proper lane, driving an unregistered vehicle, driving without the minimum insurance, interfering with police and engaging police in a pursuit.
