Commercial Equipment Company Relocating To Vernon

VERNON, CT —A company that rents scissor lifts and other commercial equipment is relocating to Vernon on a parcel located just south of Interstate-84.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony for L and S Equipment LLC has been scheduled for Friday at the new 101 Industrial Park Road headquarters, town officials said. The company will occupy Unit L in the complex.

In a business description sent to town officials, L and S bills itself as the "only women's enterprise aerial lift company" in the state. It was started in 2016 by Lisa Toce and Sue Alvarez.

Moving L and S to Vernon is a homecoming for Toce and her husband, Buzz, who has 25 years of experience in the industrial rental business himself. The have lived in Vernon for 24 years, according to an L and S business summary.

When the opportunity arose to relocate to Industrial Park Road, it was an "easy decision," Lisa Toce said, citing the building's close proximinty to the highway and Exit 66.

Vernon is "an ideal town to have a business," she added.
