Cornerstone Offering Another Back-To-School Backpack Event

VERNON, CT — The Cornerstone Foundation is again offering stuffed backpacks to children in Vernon, Tolland and Ellington for the start of the school year.

Opening night is scheduled for Aug 2 at Cornerstone, located on Prospect Street in Vernon.

Cornerstone is inviting students in the first through 12th grades to participate.

There is no charge for the event, but each student will need a ticket to participate and, because of limited space, just one adult per student will be allowed.

Registration information can be obtained here. It can be done in person at the Prospect Street clothing bank or online.

Here is the schedule:

• Aug. 2 from 4 to 7 p.m.
• Aug. 3 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
• Aug 16 from 4 to 7 p.m.
• Aug. 17 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
