Coronavirus Testing To Continue In Vernon With Some Changes
The town of Vernon and Priority Urgent Care of Ellington will continue to offer virus testing.

VERNON, CT — The town of Vernon and Priority Urgent Care of Ellington have announced a
continuation of the public-private partnership offering coronaviris testing to the community.
Based on "community need," several modifications have been made to the schedule, effective Tuesday:
- Every Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at St. Bernard Church: Drive-up testing will be offered from 9 to 10 a.m. and Walk-up testing will be offered from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
- Every Thursday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Vernon Senior Center: Drive-up testing only will be offered at 135 Bolton Road for anyone, regardless of insurance status or ability to pay.
Pre-screening is strongly encouraged to expedite the testing process. The pre-screening can be done through telemedicine evaluations at Priority Urgent Care (860-454-0678) or www.priorityuc.com. Anyone requiring assistance with access to testing should contact the Town of Vernon Joint Coordination Center at 860-896-4568.

Mayor Daniel Champagne said, "This partnership has been successful in increasing access, reducing barriers and making COVID-19 testing more convenient for our residents. We are pleased to continue to offer this service in Vernon as we re-open our community."

"Our staff has received great feedback at the testing sites and we feel continuing this testing in the community fills a vital public health function. We have performed several hundred tests in Vernon over the last few weeks and look forward to continuing this service."

The Centers for Disease Control currently lists the following symptoms of COVID-19:
Cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fever or chills, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea.
