Coventry Woman Accused Of 22 Thefts At Supermarket In Tolland

TOLLAND, CT — A 48-year-old Coventry Woman is due in court this week to answer 22 charges related to thefts at the Big Y supermarket in Tolland, state police documents show.

The woman surrendered on a warrant last week at the Troop C barracks. The 22 charges are all sixth-degree larceny, state police said.

The woman was seen stealing items on 34 videos and nine still frames on the Big Y surveillance system, according to the warrant.

Among the items taken were:

• Chicken
• Toilet paper
• Pet supplies
• Orange juice (no pulp)
• Cream cheese
• Burger patties and ground beef
• Jell-O and candy
• Assorted produce
• A bundt cake pan

The woman even took reusable store bags, according to a warrant.

She was released on a promise to appear in Rockville Superior Court on Aug. 25, according to an arrest report.
