Cover Of Truck's A/C Unit Hits Car On I-84 In Vernon
State police said part of a truck's air conditioning unit went flying last week on I-84.

VERNON, CT — The cover of an air conditioning unit atop a truck became dislodged and slammed into a car behind it on stretch of Interstate 84 in Vernon last week, state police said.
The incident took place at 12:57 p.m. April 6 on the eastbound side of the highway, according to a crash report.
Both vehicles — a 2013 Ford F350 driven by a 21-year-old Massachusetts man and a 2019 Subaru Outback driven by a 20-year-old New Haven woman — were in the left lane of four, according to a crash report.

The cover of the truck's rooftop exterior A/C unit then broke off and hit the Subaru, but the driver of the car was not injured, state police said.
