Different Calendar Spot But Same Fireworks Format In Vernon For 2022
Vernon's annual July in the Sky event will be taking on the traditional format this year, albeit a little later in the month.

VERNON, CT — Though it occupies a different spot on the calendar for 2022, Vernon's annual July in the Sky fireworks event will be taking on the traditional format.
The 2022 version of July in the Sky is scheduled for July 12 with activities at Henry Park and downtown Rockville. The family friendly festivities begin at 6 p.m. with music and amusements like bounce houses, plus all kinds of food at both locations. The traditional Push, Pull and Pedal Patriotic Parade will be a feature once again in Rockville.
Everything culminates with the fireworks show at dusk.

The fireworks event has taken place earlier in July in the past.
"The July in the Sky fireworks show is one of those events people from Vernon and all over look forward to," Vernon Mayor Daniel Champagne said. "Families can enjoy a great evening of kid-friendly fun at Henry Park and in Rockville."

The Vernon Parks and Recreation Department organizes events at Henry Park and this year the Rockville Downtown Association is coordinating the evening's activities in downtown Rockville. The fireworks are shot off from the road around the base of the Fox Hill Tower at Henry Park and are visible from Rockville, the park and miles around.
The Parks and Recreation Department is seeking a band and food vendors for festivities at Henry Park. The Rockville Downtown Association is seeking sponsors, vendors and volunteers for the downtown Rockville venue.
