Discount Retail Store Slates Opening Day For Black Friday In Vernon

VERNON, CT — A popular discount retail store is scheduled to open for business on Black Friday at its latest location in Vernon.

That was the word Wednesday from Travis Clark, the manager of the new Five Below store in Vernon. In late May, it was announced that the store would be taking over a vacancy in the Tri-City Plaza in Vernon. The plaza is located at 35 Talcottville Road in the Vernon Circle area.

Regulatory approval was relatively quick because Five Below is a retail use at a property designated for retail use.

Five Below is located between Staples and Harbor Freight in the plaza. Opening Day is set to begin at 10 a.m. on Nov. 25, Clark said.

According to a company profile, Philadelphia-based Five Below has more than 1,100 stores across the U.S.
The merchandise is aimed geared toward tweens and teens and items generally cost up to $5. Some items — like electronic accessories — can cost up to $25.
