Dog Days in Vernon: Giant Stuffed Puppy Trucking Around Town in the Back of a Pickup

Have you seen the giant stuffed dog in the truck?

VERNON, CT - Have you seen the giant stuffed dog in the back of the pickup truck riding around Vernon?

Keep an eye out because you just might.

Pictures of the truck with the stuffed dog have been popping up on Facebook. Vernon resident Erica Jackson said she noticed it on June 14.

"I was driving through the center of Rockville and, oh my God, I just saw it," Jackson said. "I have not seen it since. I just laughed because it was so great to see."

Jackson was able to get a picture of the truck carrying the stuffed dog. Another picture of it taken at the intersection of West Street and Route 30 was posted on a social media outlet by someone who works in town.

Sgt. Kerry Reynolds of the Vernon Police Department saw it in the center of town on June 16. It was 6 in the morning and she was making one last lap around town toward the end of her shift. Reynolds said she turned right out of the police lot, looked in front of of her and there was the truck heading up West toward Route 30.

She considered it a gesture of good cheer.

"That just made my day," she said. "It put a big smile on my face."

Jackson said the same thing.

"I thought is was pretty cool," she said.

Reynolds said she would not mind seeing it again.

"It was really nice to see something like that," she said. "It would make me smile again if I saw it again."
