Dog Spa Among Features Of New Vernon Apartment Complex

VERNON, CT — A new apartment complex on Route 83 in Vernon seems to be offering just about everything to its residents — including a dog spa.

Principals Artisan Development and Trio Properties hosted a grand opening ceremony Wednesday for Trail Run Apartments Vernon. Trail Run is a new residential community along the 200 block of Talcottville Road, the local name for that stretch of Route 83. Showcased on Wednresday were 96 apartment homes, which represent the first phase of 312 total homes, plus retail/commercial space.

The site sits back from Talcottville Road and is designed to be what owners dubbed, "a new standard of nature inspired, environmentally-conscious living in the area." Access to the Hockanum River trail is included in the complex.

The dog spa is adjacent to the pool and offers a full-service pet shower area. A separate dog park is also on the property.

In addition to the pet areas, amenities include:

• A resident lounge with entertainment kitchen
• A café
• A gym
• A fire pit, and outdoor grilling kitchen
• Access to Vernon's trail system

Mayor Daniel Champagne, just prior to the official ribbon-cutting, said the complex, "has everything."

Trail Run includes studio, one-bedroom, one-bedroom plus den and two-bedroom apartments with nature views with open floor plan designs.

Apartments are priced from $1,450 per month for a studio up to $2,045 for the largest two bedroom plan and are now leasing for immediate occupancy.

There are fully accessible ADA-standard units in the complex. complete with lower counters and a stove that features controls in the front for easy access.

Champagne said state transportatiom officials are planning a traffic light for the new intersection. Route 83 is a state road. The driveway will be called 2 Trail Run.
