VERNON, CT — A teen driver is facing several charges after a police pursuit in October, a warrant indicates.

According to a warrant, at 7:48 p.m. on Oct. 9, a state trooper was heading east on I-84 near Exit 64 in Vernon. The trooper noticed a light-colored 1994 Honda Civic with a temporary registration plate assigned to another vehicle traveling in the center lane at a high rate of speed.

The trooper merged into the left-hand lane and clocked the Civil at 102 mph for a half-mile. The Civic began to weave between two lanes in an effort to pass other vehicles. After being initially stopped, the driver sped away and the trooper tried to catch the Civic at 100 mph before breaking off the chase, according to a warrant. The "aftermarket exhaust system" on the Civic was creating a loud scene, according to a warrant.
