Driver Charged After Wild Ride Around Cop On I-84 Ramp: Report

A driver is facing charges after passing a state police cruiser on an Interstate-84 ramp, a report says.

VERNON, CT — A driver is facing a plethora of charges after passing a state police cruiser on an Interstate-84 ramp late last week, a report indicates.

It was 10:39 p.m. on Sept. 5 when a state police cruiser was stopped at a red light at the bottom of the I-84 West Exit 67 exit ramp, according to a report. Suddenly, a vehicle driven by 20-year-old Devin Michael Marsh passed the trooper on the left, ran the red light and made a sharp right-hand turn onto Route 31, according to a report.

The vehicle was stopped a short time later and Marsh, who has a listed Tolland address in a report, failed sobriety tests, according to a report. State police also located an air pistol in the car, a report indicates.

Marsh was chaged with:

  • Driving under the influence
  • Possession on a weapon in a motor vehicle
  • Improper turns
  • A signal violation
  • Possession of a controlled substance
  • Possession of alcohol by a minor
  • Second-degree forgery

He is due in court on Oct. 18 after posting a $5,000 bond.
