VERNON, CT — A driver cut off a Connecticut State Police cruiser at better than 100 mph late last week on Interstate 84 in Vernon, according to an arrest report.

The incident took place Friday at 6:51 p.m., according to an arrest report.

A trooper on duty on I-84 noticed a white Volvo V60 with New York registration approaching her cruiser from the right lane of three at a high rate of speed, according to an arrest report. The Volvo made multiple lane changes and then cut in front of the cruiser and sped away, and when the trooper caught up to it, the speed registered between 100 and 120 mph, according to an arrest report.

The trooper finally managed to pull the car over and the driver, 43-year-old Kaveh Hajifathalian, of New York City, was charged with reckless driving and failure to maintain the proper lane, according top an arrest report.
