Driver Says Steering 'Locked Up' Prior To Scary Vernon Ramp Crash
A state police report details a scary highway ramp crash in Vernon.

VERNON, CT — The driver of a compact sedan told state police that the vehicle steering "locked up" just prior to a scary highway crash in Vernon.
The crash took place at 5:31 p.m. 0n April 23, state police said.
The vehicle involved was a 20-year-old Honda Accord being driven by a 36-year-old Vernon man. The Honda was on the Exit 66 Interstate 84 westbound on-ramp when the steering malfunctioned, according to the report. The car shot through the ramp and across all three lanes on I-84 and slammed into the center median.

The driver and 8-year-old twins who were in the vehicle were taken to Rockville General Hospital for precautionary reasons, according to the report.
