Drug Takeback Event Slated For Vernon
A drug takeback event is slated for Saturday in Vernon.

VERNON, CT — On Saturday, Oct. 27, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Vernon Police Department
and the federal Drug Enforcement Administration will give the public its 16th opportunity to discard expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs.
Additional partners in the event include Walgreens Pharmacy and the Vernon ROCKS Coalition.
Residents can bring pills for disposal to Walgreens Pharmacy at 188 Union St.

The DEA cannot accept liquids or needles or sharps, only pills or patches.
The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.

Last October the local site collected 167 pounds of prescription drugs and in April the program collected
89 pounds.
