VERNON, CT — A drunken driver and a double-parked car did not make a good combination in the Rockville section of Vernon over the weekend.

According to an arrest report, at 5:51 p.m. Saturday, a vehicle traveling on the 100 block of West Main Street smashed into an unoccupied, "illegally parked" car. When officers arrived, they could smell alcohol on the driver, a 57-year-old Tolland woman, according to an arrest report.

The woman first failed field sobriety tests and then registered blood alcohol levels of .2085 and .2060 on breath tests, well beyond the state's .08 legal limit.
