Drunken Driver Speeds Through Stop Signs In Vernon Neighborhood: Cops
A driver failed a sobriety test after racing through a Vernon neighborhood, police said.

VERNON, CT — A drunken driver went barreling down a road in the northeast part of Vernon before being corralled by police late last week, an arrest report indicates.
The incident took place at 8:55 p.m. on Feb. 2, police said. An officer on patrol on East Street spotted a black Honda Civic traveling down the rod at a high rate of speed and run through two stop signs, according to an arrest report.
The officer pulled the car over and smelled alcohol emanating from inside the vehicle. The driver, a 42-year-old Enfield woman, subsequently failed a field sobriety test and was charged with driving under the influence and a pair of stop sign violations, police said.
