Drunken Vernon Homeowner Fires Gun At 'Shadow' Of Intruder: Report
A Vernon resident was arrested after shooting at a front-yard "intruder," police said.

VERNON, CT — A homeowner that was apparently intoxicated fired a gun at what she thought was a front-yard intruder over the weekend, police said.
The incident took place at 2:53 a.m. Sunday on Boxwood Drive, police said.
According to an incident report, the resident's dog began to bark, so she opened the front door and saw "a shadow of a person walking across her front yard." She then went into the home's living room, grabbed her gun, walked to the front door and fired one round at "the shadow," according to incident report.
