Eggs Dropping From Drone To Highlight Annual Hunt In Vernon
Vernon's annual egg hunt will have a new twist for 2022.

VERNON, CT — The 2022 version of Vernon's annual egg hunt is featuring a new twist — eggs being dropped from a drone.
Town officials figured it added a modern element to a long-standing tradition.
The egg hunt is scheduled for April 14 at Henry Park. It is open to children 2 through 8. Young people do not have to sign up in advance but they will need to bring their own containers to gather eggs.

The event is sponsored by the Vernon Parks and Recreation Department and Santini Villa Apartments.
Rockville High School students and PhotoFlight are teaming up to drop eggs via a drone, town officials said.

The schedule is:
- 2-year-olds: 5:30 p.m. at the softball field
- Ages 3 and 4: 6 p.m. at the softball field
- Ages 5 and 6: 5:45 p.m. at McCoy Field
- Ages 7 and 8: 6:15 p.m. at McCoy Field
