Elderly Driver In Large Car Slams Into Liquor Store In Vernon: Report
Vernon police released a crash report on a car versus building incident Tuesday.

VERNON, CT — A shorter elderly driver lost control of a large car and hit a liquor store in Vernon late last week, police said.
Police released details of the accident Tuesday.
According to a crash report, at 11:26 a.m. Friday, an 86-year-old woman was driving a tan Mercury Grand Marquis on Talcottville Road. She pulled into the parking lot at Harry's Fine Wine & Liquors at No. 482, but could not reach the brake pedal in time to slow the vehicle down while parking, according to a crash report.

The Grand Marquis then hopped a curb and slammed into the building, according to a crash report.
A boarded-up hole on the front of the building was still visible below a "Double Chill" seltzer ad Tuesday morning.
