Employee of Vernon Store Charged In Organized Theft Scheme: PD
An employee at a popular store in Vernon has been arrested in connection with a ripoff scheme, police said.

VERNON, CT — An employee of a Vernon retail store is facing 18 criminal charges in what a warrant describes as a scheme to purchase goods with an employee discount, then return them for the full value, thus ripping off the business.
The store involved was TJ Maxx in the Tri-City Plaza, police said. The employee is 28 and lives in Manchester, police said. She was served a warrant in the case on March 7, records show. She posted a $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Rockville Superior Court on March 23.
The thefts occurred between October and January, according to a warrant.

She is accused of purchasing items in small amounts using an employee discount, then trying to return them to get the full price back, according to a warrant. The total value of the items was $399, police said.
The employee was charged with 10 counts of sixth-degree larceny and eight counts of possessing a burglar tool.
