Creative Living Community is pleased to announce the date for its first annual Farmstead Fair! This event will unveil our brand new greenhouse initiative. CLCC’s greenhouse will provide therapeutic recreation and training for a variety of groups while at the same time producing viable products that can be marketed and sold.

The greenhouse is only phase one of CLCC’s vision and commitment to create a viable farmstead community.  CLCC seeks to create a shared, inclusive living experience for    individuals with and without developmental disabilities in a farmstead village, by focusing upon the gifts of all in mutually rewarding relationships. The Farmstead Village is the key element of the vision. People with and without a disability will interact by living together, working together and socializing together. When complete, there will be a mixed community of approximately eighty people. About twenty of the Farmstead Village residents would be diagnosed with a developmental disability.

Creative Living Community of Connecticut (CLCC) began in 2006 as a group of parents with adult children with autism, siblings and friends wanting to help support a full life for their family members. There is a significant need for projects such as CLCC’s farmstead village as both in Connecticut and nationally the need for support, housing, and services far outweighs the current available resources.

The Farmstead Fair will be held at the Tolland agricultural Center in Vernon, CT on Saturday, September 22, 2012 from 10 am to 4 pm. Admission is free. There is a parking fee of $5.00 per car. The fair will feature food vendors, artisans, products from the greenhouse, live animals, demonstrations, entertainment, and a silent auction. All proceeds will go to benefit Creative Living Community of Connecticut.
