Nutrition Class

FREE Nutrition Education & Weight Management Class

 

This 4 week class is taught by a Registered Dietitian and is offered to residents of the North Central Health District free of charge.

The class focuses on increasing the awareness of dietary practices that promote heart health & reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease through the adoption of a heart healthy lifestyle.  Each two hour class provides a wide range of nutrition and exercise information, including discussions about fat, fiber, calcium, sodium, and physical fitness.  Classes are tailored to provide participants with the opportunity to increase their skills in creating a lifestyle which reflects a reduction in dietary fat, an increase in dietary fiber, and increase in physical activity.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Nutrition and Your Health: Dietary Guidelines for Americans

Choose My Plate Guide

A Collection of Recipes booklet, selected healthy recipes provided by our Registered Dieticians.
