VERNON, CT — Three family pets died in a Monday house fire in Vernon, authorities said.
The fire broke out Monday morning at a ranch-style home on Riverside Drive.
Firefighters encountered smoke billowing from the roof. Heavy flames were inside the home, fire officials said.
