Fight In Vernon Turns Into Slushy Vs. Wooden Stake Duel
Two combatants used a peculiar combination of implements during an altercation in Vernon and a Manchester man was arrested, police said.

VERNON, CT — A Manchester resident wound up being arrested Friday night when two people squared off in Vernon with a peculiar combination of implements.
The scene unraveled at about 8 p.m. along the 200 block of Hartford Turnpike, according to an arrest report.
Police received a call about a 24-inch wooden stake being thrown at a vehicle, but investigators determined that the whole thing started when the caller threw a "Slushy" at the vehicle of the eventual stake-thrower, according to an arrest report.

The thrower of the wooden stake, a 34-year-old Manchester man, was arrested at the scene and charged with second-degree reckless endangerment, second-degree breach of peace and third-degree criminal mischief, according to an arrest report.
