Fire Breaks Out At Home In Vernon Monday

VERNON, CT — A fire broke out Monday evening at a home in a Vernon neighborhood in between routes 30 and 83.

The initial calls came in at 5:54. The home was on Meriam Street, near the intersection with Harriet St.

Within minutes, several fire trucks were at the scene.

Smoke could be seen billowing from the back of the ranch-style home.

Firefighters seemingly had the blaze under control quickly.
