Fire Breaks Out At Home In Vernon Tuesday

A fire broke out at a Vernon home on Tuesday.

VERNON, CT — A fire broke out at a ranch-style home on Thrall Road in Vernon Tuesday afternoon.

The fire at 86 Thrall Road was reported at about 2 p.m. Firefighters from Vernon, Tolland and Ellington responded to the scene. A police spokesman said the incident originated in the basement.

Hoses ran from Dart Hill Road to the scene. The road was closed off from Route 83 to the scene and from Skinner Road to the scene.

The gray home seemed to be filled with smoke. Vernon Mayor Dan Champagne said at the scene that all residents were out safely.

Investigators were at the scene well into the afternoon.
