Fire Breaks Out At Ladd & Hall Furniture Warehouse In Vernon

VERNON, CT — A fire broke out at the Ladd & Hall furniture warehouse in the Rockville Section of Vernon Monday.

The red brick structure is located at 114 Brooklyn Street, a short distance away from the iconic furniture store's showroom.

Officials at the scene said the fire seemed electrical in nature and was under control in short time.

An Eversource Energy crew was at the scene in addition to several fire trucks.

The fire comes at a time when the business, which has been around since 1937, is in the midst of a going out of business sale.

The closing was announced in early September and it was expected to last roughly three months.
