Fire Breaks Out At Vernon Commercial Plaza

VERNON, CT — A fire broke out in a busy commercial area of Vernon on Thursday.

It broke out at about 4:45 p.m. at the Family Dollar-Dollar Tree-Rockville Pharmacy commercial complex on Route 83, police said.

Police had to shut down the road between Windermere Avenue and Terrace Drive for about an hour.

Fire trucks were at both the front and rear of the complex and crews were inspecting all three stores.

Family Dollar has been at the 42 Windsor Ave plaza for several years. The Dollar Tree recently re-located there from Ellington and the pharmacy came there after many years in Downtown Rockville.
