Fireworks In Vernon: July 4th Events 2023

VERNON, CT — Here's what's in store this Independence Day season in Vernon:

Vernon's annual fireworks show is scheduled for July 11 this year.

The usual two venues will be featured — Henry Park and Downtown Rockville.

The rain date is July 12.

Here is a sampling of the activities in downtown Rockville:

The traditional Push Pull Patriotic Parade

Hyzer Disc Sports will have a disc golf playing field set up

Fire and Air Giant Puppets sponsored by the Vernon Cultural District

The Rockville High Cheer team with be in the parade cheering and then will be performing for the crowd.

Arthur Murray Dance will be encouraging attendees to downtown Rockville JITS to get up and dance to the music of Better Than Chips

Bounce houses, an obstacle course, a giant slide, a rock wall and the bubble pad will be set up for all kids to enjoy

There will be many nonprofit organizations and small businesses for attendees to the event to check out and several downtown businesses will be open.

• Nana’s ice cream

• Stu is back with all the great novelties items to buy will at the fireworks

At Henry Park, the Kids Zone will be set up featuring rides and games.

There is an admission fee to get into Henry Park. There is no charge for the Downtown Rockville venue.

Activities generally begin at about 6 p.m. with roads near Downtown Rockville close after 5 p.m.

The fireworks display will be shot off from atop Fox Hill next to the famed tower shortly after dusk when the professionals determine the optimum viewing time.
