Former RHS Standout Brown Gets National Honors for Eastern
Eastern opened the season ranked No. 24.

WILLIMANTIC, CT – Following his selection Monday as Little East Conference men’s basketball Player-of-the-Week for the second time this year, Eastern Connecticut State University senior Tarchee Brown, a former Rockville High standout, has been selected to the D3hoops.com Team-of-the-Week released today. At No. 25, the Warriors also remained ranked nationally in the third weekly D3hoops.com Top 25 poll.
In a 2-1 week, the 6-foot-3 inch guard/forward averaged 25.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.0 steals for the once-beaten (8-1, 2-0 LEC) Warriors. When the Warriors won their 32nd consecutive LEC regular-season home game Saturday in a 107-55 win over Plymouth State, Brown led all players in the game in points (28), rebounds (9), assists (8) and steals (4) despite being lifted with 11 minutes remaining.
Brown was 11-of-16 from the floor and 5-of-5 from the foul line. He scored15 points in the first 13 minutes, equaling Plymouth’s team total at that point. Of Eastern’s first 17 field goals, Brown either scored or set up a basket with a rebound, steal and/or assist on ten of them to spark the Warriors to a 22-point lead with seven minutes left in the first half.

Eastern opened the season ranked No. 24 with a 5-0 record and jumped four spots Dec. 4 with a 6-0 record.
In a home loss to WPI at mid-week, Brown had a season-high 32 points with eight rebounds, sinking 11 of 21 field goals and 7-of-10 free throws with no turnovers in 40 minutes.

Brown, who needs 71 points to become the program’s all-time leading scorer, leads the LEC in scoring (23.3 ppg.), is sixth in field goal percentage (55.8) and assists (3.4) and tied for eighth in steals (1.7).
A winner of the last three and four of the last five LEC regular-season titles, Eastern faces Penn State Behrend Dec. 19 and Cabrini University Dec. 20 at the HoopMIA D3Holiday Shootout at Barry University.
