VERNON, CT — Friday is a snow day for the Vernon public school system.
Superintendent of Schools Joseph Macary made the call to parents at 6:38 p.m. Thursday night.
Snow is supposed to arrive during the overnight period and could be falling at a rate of 1-inch per hour between 5 and 9 a.m. Friday, according to the National Weather Service.
