Friends Thank You

Thank you letter

The Friends of Rockville Public Library held another very successful holiday cookie sale this year. A huge thank you to the following without whom this success could not have happened. Thanks to the library staff for taking orders, to callers to our bakers, to Price Chopper, to Lori Gilmore and her culinary students at RHS, to Great Harvest Bread, to La Brioche Bakery, to Panera Bread, Deming St., to those who couldn't bake and made donations, to all of the wonderful bakers in our community, to Mel our shrink wrapper, to the fun group who produced gorgeous platters, and of course, to all of our supporters who purchased our platters.

Aside from the holiday cookie sale, the Friends also participate in the library tree festival, the town wide tag sale, the Strong Family Farm Fall Festival, the library Scrabble event, provide refreshments for many library events and thanks to Jan of the Friends, keep the used books and CD's neat and orderly for sale.

Through our fundraising, the Friends have been able to provide museum passes to library card holders which except for a few, can now be ordered on line through the library website (rockvillepubliclibrary.org), purchased a new couch for the children's library as well as a table and set of chairs, a silhouette paper cutter for the teen library, Wowbrary for the library and other library requests.

In 2018, March will bring the library's Anna K. to explain how she became an American citizen and April will bring Al Strong from the Dept. of Tourism to talk about all the CT has to offer.
