Gallery: New ShopRite Opens In Vernon

VERNON, CT — The new ShopRite supermarket opened in Vernon on Sunday to much fanfare.

The store is located in the Tri-City Plaza, 35 Talcottville Road, and takes the place of the former PriceChopper.

Mayor Daniel Champagne read a proclamation welcoming the store to town. Town council members, chamber of commerce officials and members of Vernon's state legislative contingent were also on hand.

There was also a good-sized crowd checking out the store, which received a certificate of occupancy on Wednesday.
