Local police went for a jog Thursday as part of the Connecticut Special Olympics Torch Run.

VERNON, CT — Vernon police officers made their annual trek through town Thursday as part of the Connecticut Special Olympics Torch Run.

The Vernon PD raised about $1,300 for the Special Olympics this year and helped bring the total for all departments since 1981 to about $600 million.
