Good Friday To Alter Vernon Trtash, Recycling Pickups
Vernon's Good Friday trash scheduled has been posted.

VERNON, CT — The Vernon Public Works Department will be closed on Friday, April 3, in observance of Good Friday, changing the town's refuse and recycling schedule for residents.
Refuse and recycling will not be collected that day. Instead, the town said those materials will be collected Monday, April 6, along with that day's scheduled collection.
Residents are asked to have refuse and recycling carts at the curb no later than 6 a.m. on collection day. With Friday's route moved to Monday, that means carts should be out by 6 a.m. on April 6.

The town also said excess refuse and recycling may be brought to the Transfer Station year round at no charge for Vernon residents. The facility's regular hours are Wednesdays and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 4 p.m.
The Transfer Station, however, will be closed on Easter Sunday, April 5. Residents planning to use the facility over the holiday weekend will need to work around that closure.
