Good Friday Prompting Changes To Vernon Trash Collection Schedule

VERNON, CT — The Vernon Public Works Department will be closed on Friday April 7, 2023 in observance of Good Friday.

Refuse and recycling will not be collected on that day but instead will be collected on Monday April 10, along with that day's regular collection. Refuse and recycling carts should be out out to the curb no later than 6 a.m. on collection day.

Excess refuse and recycling may be brought to the Vernon Transfer Station at no charge to Vernon residents. The hours of operation are Wednesdays and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m, and Sundays from noon to 4 p.m.

The transfer station will be closed on Easter Sunday — April 9.
