High-Speed Antics On I-84 In Vernon Lead To Pair Of Arrests
Two high-speed incidents on Interstate 84 in Vernon during Thanksgiving travel periods have led to a pair of arrests, state police said.

VERNON, CT — Two high-speed incidents on Interstate 84 in Vernon have led to a pair of arrests, state police said.
On at 1:10 a.m. Monday, as folks were still returning from the Thanksgiving holiday, state troopers were on a speed enforcement detail I-84 at the Vernon-Manchester line and observed a silver Ford Fusion driving on the eastbound side going 113 mph, according to an arrest report.
A trooper followed the vehicle, and conducted a traffic stop in the area of the Exit 64-65 interchange, according to an arrest report.

The driver, identified as Isaac Carlos, 34, of Brunswick, ME, was using a registration plate that was not associated with the Fusion, according to an arrest report.
Carlos was subsequently arrested and charged with reckless driving, driving an unregistered motor vehicle, the misuse of registration plates and reckless endangerment in the second degree, according to an arrest report.

Carlos was released on a $5,000 bond and has a court date of Dec. 12, state police said.
According to an arrest report, at 9:08 on the night before Thanksgiving — a heavy time for travel — troopers encountered a Honda Accord on the westbound side of the highway near Exit 66 weaving in-and-out of a thick flow of vehicle and narrowly missing several of them at 90-plus mph.
When troopers caught up to the car, the driver, 25-year-old Fabrizio Lazo, of East Hartford, took "an extremely long time to come to a stop," according to an arrest report. When questioned by state police, he refused to give his name after jumping into the back seat, according to an arrest report.
An eight-year-old was in the vehicle, according to an arrest report.
He was charged with reckless driving, risk of injury to a child, second-degree reckless endangerment, interfering with police and driving while under suspension. His case was assigned a $15,000 bond.
