Hometown Heroes Sponsoring Police Dog Grant Giveaway
Police canine units in the region can apply for new grants for dogs "protecting and serving communities with dignity, honor, and pride."

NORTH CENTRAL, CT — In partnership with local law enforcement canine groups, The Hometown Foundation is offering a chance for agencies to receive grant money totaling $12,000.
The funding is to be donated to the top three agencies from the application and voting process.
The grants are designed to help provide additional resources and training to the individualized agencies. Only those employed by law enforcement agencies may apply.

The application period will run from Jan. 1 through Jan. 29. After all applications have been submitted, a voting period will run from Feb. 1 through Feb. 28, at which time the top three will receive grant money, to be announced on March 8.
Monies will be distributed as follows:

- First place - $5,000
- Second place- $4,000
- Third place - $3,000
To apply canine teams can visit: k9.hometownfoundation.org and complete an application form, including a short story and picture of both dog and handler.
The first vote is free with any remaining votes costing $1 and proceeds benefiting Hometown Foundation’s Police K-9 Program.
