Internet Provider Setting Up Fiber Optic Infrastructure In Vernon
GoNetspeed's $6.5 million project is covering nearly 87 miles in Vernon and South Windsor.

VERNON, CT — GoNetspeed, a company that bills itself as "a leading fiber internet service provider in the Northeast," announced Tuesday the start of construction on a 100 percent fiber optic network throughout Vernon.
GoNetspeed's $6.5 million project is covering nearly 87 miles in Vernon and South Windsor and offering service to more than 7,600 homes and businesses.

GoNetspeed is expanding across Connecticut, GoNetspeed CEO Richard Clark said.

GoNetspeed is advertising a free router with monthly plans that start at $39.95.
GoNetspeed also participates in the federal Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP), which provides eligible households a maximum of $30 per month toward service.
Fiber Internet offers symmetrical speeds, meaning that both download and upload are equally fast. The connectivity challenges people experience with video conferencing associated with telecommuting, online learning, and telemedicine have emphasized the importance of fast upload speeds.
GoNetspeed has established service in Connecticut, Alabama, Maine, Massachusetts, Missouri, New York, Pennsylvania, Vermont and West Virginia.
