J&J, Pfizer Are Preferred Vaccines At Vernon-Sponsored Clinics

VERNON, CT — The Johnson & Johnson and Pfizer coronavirus vaccines are neck-and-neck in terms of being the most popular at Vernon clinics over the past three months.

The Moderna shots have been a distant third.

Vernon officials released the statistics at the latest clinic using the town's mobile vaccination unit Tuesday at Central Park in front of town hall.

In all, 449 people have been vaccinated at town-sponsored regional clinics since May 1. A total of 195 Pfizer shots have been administered, compared to 193 of the J&J vaccines. The statistics did not differentiate between the first and second dosed of the Pfizer vaccine. The J&J vaccine needs just a single dose.

Moderna shots totaled 61.
