VERNON, CT — A woman's one phone call from the Vernon Police Department lockup after being arrested for a protective order violation was to her mother — the person she was banned from seeing in the first place.

An arrest report detailed the July 6 incident. Police were dispatched to a Franklin Street home at 3:06 p.m. for a "welfare check" and discovered that the 49-year-old woman was there, despite a full, no-contact protective order issued for her mother, according to the report.

The woman was arrested for violating the court order and, when allowed to make a phone call from the police department, she called her mom again, according to the report.

She was also in violation of a protective order issued for her husband when he came to the address earlier in the day, according to the report.

The woman posted a $20,000 bond and was arraigned in Rockville Superior Court on July 8, records show. She is due back on Aug. 8, a clerk at the courthouse said.
